Tampines Condominium Development
Project Title
Tampines Condominium Development
Description
The development was to involve a complex accommodating 1,000 units of middle-income housing, recreational and shopping facilities located on an abandoned sandstone quarry site. An important objective was to achieve a balance between the high-density housing types common to government-sponsored projects and more traditional mid-rise buildings reflecting vernacular ground-based housing. The intention was that the entire project would be constructed in three phases from prefabricated, three-dimensional concrete box units that were produced in a factory offsite and then shipped to the site for assembly.
