Description
The National Museum of Scotland Building Department requested a proposal for a new museum for Scottish history and culture. The site chosen was to be shared with the existing Royal Museum. The design was to contain references from the past, yet clearly belong to the present. The route to view and experience the museum was to begin at the topmost level, containing the Modern Scotland galleries, and to descend chronologically through the levels until reaching the geology exhibits, archaeological in character, at the lowest level.
