Project Title
Mamilla Center: Master Plan
Description
The 28-acre site of Mamilla Center forms the upper edge of the Valley of Hinnom and acts as a hinge between the Old City of Jerusalem and the new downtown. Safdie’s three-dimensional master plan creates a series of parks, squares, and residential and commercial facilities to reclaim the dilapidated public realm as an area of interaction and coexistence. Approximately 50 percent of the overall site is devoted to open public spaces and parks, which follow the natural topography of the site and respect the scale of the Old City walls.
