Institute for Desert Research
Project Title
Institute for Desert Research
Description
The Institute for Desert Research was proposed as an extensive research complex with a master plan and a residential village to house staff and scientists, and a community centre. The intention was to provide a physical separation between the scientists' homes and their work space, preventing the introverted isolation which is a potential problem in any small, self-contained community. The centre also included some commercial facilities and a pedestrian walkway and bridge that linked the various components of the complex.
