Project Title
Indian Carry Resort
Description
Indian Carry Resort was a proposal for the development of a lightweight prototype for vacation condominium units. Phased over several years, it was planned that the resort would include five hundred units in total, grouped in clusters of 20-30 units, along with a full range of amenities such as tennis courts, ski trails, a marina, and golf course. Due to the remote location and scarcity of local labour, a prefabricated system was considered for the housing units based on the geometry of the rhombic dodecahedron. Although the resort was never realized, a country house was constructed for Mr. and Mrs. Eberts in 1970 which exemplified the basic geometrical system developed in the design of Indian Carry.
