Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts (Lac Brûlé), QC, Canada
Residential, Country house [detached, basement, 2 floors, 5 bedrooms, 2 servants' rooms]; wood; composite

Client: Howard Wilson
Architect: E. & W.S. Maxwell

Description: In 1911, Mr. Howard Wilson, brother-in-law of Mr. Stewart, engaged the Maxwell brothers to design his country house. The design was another shingle style residence. The plan revealed a T-shaped plan, on the front wing with a full verandah as well as the dining room, living room, access hall, and bedroom. In a perpendicular axis to the front wing the architects placed the kitchen facilities, which included a shed, ice room, and a larder. A series of intersecting hip roofs adorned the cottage with a Neo-Gothic dormer façade containing a recessed balcony. The central feature of the front elevation was the main entrance, which was offset to the right side of the bowed living room. The Wilson residence burned down in 1929.
