Client: Canadian Bag Company

Description: The Canadian Bag Company had three bays added in 1906-1907 to their existing eight-bay long Winnipeg warehouse by the railway tracks. Each bay had an opening unto the track curved elevation for shipping. The basement floor was to be a warehouse and the ground floor plan,, a printing warehouse and office. A first floor was added December 1909, creating yet another new warehouse. The building had a wood post and beam frame. Its siding materials were not specified. The Maxwells had also given plans for a warehouse extension at the Montreal plant of the company, on Saint-Patrick Street (90’ x 120’, three floors, corrugated metal siding) but it might have been razed or integrated with a new brick plant that was erected in 1913-14 at 2491 Saint-Patrick and that still exists.
