Description: The G.F. Aylmer house has an Arts and Crafts flavour. It features roughcast walls and a slate roof; an inglenook and beams in the drawing room and a large gallery and porch to the south. Plans cleverly orient all principal rooms towards the south while services (bathrooms, kitchen and sewing room) face north. The parlour and the dining room are connected by a sun room; all open to a large gallery, partly covered and supporting a balcony. All three main bedrooms upstairs have windows looking south. Interiors details are kept fresh and unpretentious.
