Description: In 1897, Edward Maxwell designed the additions to the Protestant Infant’s Home. The plan indicated a two-storey narrow brick building. The ground floor plan contained the nurse’s room, dining room, convalescent room, and a spacious staircase occupying almost the entire width of the front façade. The basement comprised of the kitchen, larder, laundry, and mortuary room. The first floor plan showed two wards, a gallery, and a bathroom. The elevation illustrated a simple façade with aligned rectangular windows and a flat roof with a wood cornice.
