Beaurepaire/Thompson Point [Beaconsfield/Pointe-á-Quenet], QC, Canada
Residential, Country house [1 floor, attic]; wood; wall bearing

Client: W.S. Goodhugh
Architect: E. Maxwell

Description: The Beaurepaire shingle and clapboard cottage for Mr. Goodhugh had a simple rectangular layout. The summer house designed by Edward Maxwell sat on the elevated site overlooking Lake Saint-Louis. It featured a wrapping verandah and a centrally located entrance. The front elevation was emphasized through the pediment and gable dormer on the second level. The entrance led directly into the living room, which gave further access to the bedroom, kitchen, and dining room on the ground floor. The four bedrooms on the attic floor were approached through the stairs adjacent to living room. The building was demolished for uncertain reasons.
