462 Côte-Sainte-Catherine Road, Outremont, QC, Canada
Residential, Urban house (detached, basement, 2 floors, attic, 3 bedrooms, 2 ser-vants' rooms); brick; composite

Client: de Gaspé Beaubien
Architect: E. & W.S. Maxwell

Description: The plainest of the three houses built for the Beaubien family and located on adjacent Côte-Sainte-Catherine lots, the others being that of Charles Philippe Beaubien (293) and Louis de Gaspé Beaubien (294); their brother and Outremont Mayor Joseph Beaubien and their father Louis Beaubien lived across the street. This time the living and drawing rooms were to the east (opening to the usual terrace) with the dining room across the stair hall and the kitchen to the rear. The bedrooms, servants’ rooms and a boudoir were above. The attic under the hip roof was noticeably equipped with an artist’s studio lit by dormers on either side. All three Beaubien houses designed by the Maxwells were demolished, this one in 1973.
