Description: Founded in 1912, the Arts Club included artists such as Maurice Cullen, M.A. Suzor-Cote, William Brymner, Percy Nobbs (CAC 1), J.O. Marchand, Charles and John Archibald, and W.S. Maxwell friends George Hill (440), Maurice Cullen and Clarence Gagnon; client such as H. M. Lamb (480). William Maxwell designed the new premises on Victoria Street: a ground-floor rental space; the main meeting and exhibition room and the billiard room on the first floor. A large corridor on this floor could also be used for art display. The splendid main room had a large fireplace, cupboards and window seats designed by William Maxwell, decorations by Hill, Cullen and Paul Beau and furniture by the Bromsgrove Guild (304). W.S. Maxwell was the Arts Club first president and enjoyed most of his Friday evenings with his fellow artists on Victoria Street. While the Arts Club still exists, their Victoria home was demolished in 1965. See ''The Arts Club'' Construction vol. 6, June 1913, p. 223-225.

Interior decorations executed by such leading Canadian artists and craftsmen as Maurice Cullen, Clarence Gagnon, William Brymner, and George W. Hill. 3 drawings by Structural Steel Company Ltd., dated 28/6/1912, and 1 by the Montreal Steel Company Ltd., dated 6/13/1912, are included.
