Description: Maxwell and Shattuck worked on the additions and alterations for the Saint-James Club in 1886. The additions were executed in an impressive Neo-classical style. The distinctive feature was the splendid pavilion enclosed by intercalated columns and roofed with galvanised iron. The second floor included two new offices and a housekeeper’s mending room. A remarkable detail was the cast iron balustrade on the ground floor composed with the coat of arms of the club and floral ornaments. A new projecting bay window was added on the ground floor.
