Description: Col. Arthur Hamilton owned four properties built or altered by the Maxwell firm: 1140 Pine Avenue West (430); 1524 Summerhill Avenue (429) and a country house in Dorval (96). On this fourth property, minor alterations to the ground floor included work on a mantel and a seat, a bay window in the drawing room and a closet at the entrance. Two servants’ rooms and a bathroom were added in the basement. Bathrooms on the first and second floors were modified as well. A covered gallery was added to the rear while at the front, an entrance was provided for the basement under the existing main street entrance.
