Windsor Hotel, Alterations(9/1909-11/1909) Montreal, QC, Canada Commercial, Hotel [alterations: concert hall, marquee at side entry, entertainment board] Client: Windsor Hotel Description: The former Windsor Hotel was designed by the architect G.H. Worthing and inaugurated in 1878. Designed in a Victorian style, the hotel contains 278 rooms. In 1906, the New York architects Hardenberg & Gilbert added a new wing located on Cypress Street expanding the hotel’s capacity to 750 rooms. In 1909, based on the plans prepared by Edward & W.S. Maxwell, the building underwent alterations in the concert hall adding new doors on either side of the main entrance, and new flooring.
