Description: In 1910, the Maxwell brothers designed the factory for the Railway Company of Canada. It consisted of a long and clear rectangular plan supported with a one-storey frame construction with bays of twenty-five feet wide and metal interior partitions. The ground floor accommodates the manufacturing spaces, which include the forge shop, foundry, pattern storage, machine shop, tool shop, storage and shipping room. This enormous interior space is lit with five full-length skylights facing the north. The front part of the building is two-stories high and contains an administrative office, drawing room, and an experimental room. The elevations show a building entirely glazed with rectangular modular windows
