Commercial, Warehouse [basement, 3 floors]; brick; composite

Client: Marlatt & Armstrong Company
Architect: E. & W.S. Maxwell

Description: With its main entrance offset to the left on William Street and the general office situated to the right on the ground floor, The Marlatt & Armstrong Company building was centered with a Mission style parapet and a flagpole on the roof. The three storey brick building had a simple rectangular plan with the shipping entrance and elevator shaft on the Shannon Street side. The O’Keefe Brasserie was nearby, to the North-West on Peel and Notre-Dame Street. The interior of the Warehouse was divided into floor spaces sectioned off according to required temperature control, no doubt due to the processing and storage of enameled leather goods.
