David Williamson House(1896 [1895-96]) Westmount, QC, Canada Residential, Urban house [detached, basement, 2 floors, 3 bedrooms]; wood; wall bearing Client: David Williamson Description: In 1895 Mr. David Williamson hired Edward Maxwell to design his house in Westmount. The house is a two-storey residence. Its layout reveals a square plan with the service rooms at the rear, the verandah is supported by thin columns around three-quarters of the house. The roof has two intersecting hip roofs, one lower than the other. The dining room and the drawing room featured a bay window and were decorated with stained glass. The distinct feature of Williamson house is the enhanced front entrance, which is marked by end of the higher hip roof and the Neo-Gothic arch.
