DESCRIPTION Karen Smythe and Thomas Schyberg, were the architects for the residence of J. W. McConnell, Saran Chai in Val David, Quebec,
1929-1930. Also included in this group are blueprints by T.G. Anglin Engineering Co.,Limited for rebuilding plans after the 1951 destruction by fire, of the original 1929-1930 house. Gratton D. Thompson (1895- 1971) was the architect for Saran Chai in 1952. The drawings of Saran Chai were donated by Kathleen McConnell Laing.Also part of the donation, are drawings and photographs of other residences for J. W. McConnell.
