Several of Schoenauers’ sketches revealed his curiosity of animal architecture.

Human architects often fail to appreciate the structural achievements found in bee hives, bird nests, spider webs and beaver lodges. Much like humans, animals build homes to transform their environment, to shelter and protect their children and to better the general quality of life.
