Seasons Spring summer autumn winter

  Spring in Habitat

Birds form their nests under the rolled-up terrace awnings and refuse to move. Everyone plans some form of planting and suddenly no terrace looks the same. The ever-readies are planting bulbs. Later comes the nasturtium clan, the begonia faction, the petunia pact, the clematis cohort. Just about everybody has geraniums of some kind and impatiens is also popular. There is competition in the air. The adventurous and those with multiple terraces grow a vegetable garden. The K.s have a beautiful zen garden you can only see from the top. And of course all the indoor plants, herbs and trees spill out onto the terrace until the place begins to look like an overgrown public park, with concrete sand boxes.
