Old Port of Montreal Master Plan
Old Port of Montreal Master Plan
Client: Minister of State for Urban Affairs, Government of Canada

The federal government created a development corporation to convert the Old Port for general public use. The concept for the port site stressed the renewal of urban activity along the riverfront by encouraging public access to all while maintaining port activities on a reduced scale. Four different scenarios were developed to encourage citizen participation, public debate, and a process by which various options could be evaluated. The plans also provided for the preservation and reuse of structures that are representative of Canada's cultural heritage.
