Kilby Street Office Building
Project Title
Kilby Street Office Building
Description
This proposed development, located on the site of an existing garage parcel in downtown Boston, was to contain a combination of uses including 600,000 squared foot of office space, retail, and parking. The office tower was carefully designed in order to achieve the required square footage requirements, while also remaining sensitive to the scale and historic significance of the surrounding buildings. In addition, the tower was configured to minimize the obstruction of natural light and views on public areas at street level and the surrounding office buildings. Redevelopment of the parcel would have helped to reconnect this area with an important section of the financial district, and would have replaced an unsightly parking structure with a landmark building for downtown Boston.
